The Chair of Marketing offers a Masters Seminar (10 LP) every semester within the scope of its capacities.

Topics of the seminar papers

The Chair of Marketing currently offers seminar papers on the following topics:

1. Digital brand communication

2. Influencer Marketing

3. Advertising in Vocational Choices

4. Brand rituals

Registration process

Periods: The registration period for a seminar paper in the winter semester starts on May 15th and ends on June 15th, the registration period for a seminar paper in the summer semester starts on December 15th and ends on January 15th.

Procedure: Please write a short letter of motivation in which you explain why you would like to take a seminar at the Chair of Marketing. Please include your personal motivation (against the background of your own curriculum vitae, your professional goals, etc.). In addition, please describe the, from your point of view, three most relevant sources from the scientific literature on the topic you prefer most (apart from the respective starting literature). The letter should be no more than 300 words. Use the data mask below for your registration. Among other things, alternative topics (order of preference regarding the different topics) are to be indicated.

You will either receive a confirmation or rejection at the end of the respective month of the registration deadline. In case of a confirmation you have to confirm it bindingly by the 7th of the following month.

Information on data processing

1. Description and scope of data processing

On our website, we offer students the opportunity to register for a seminar place in the Bachelor's or Master's programme by providing personal data. The data is entered into an input mask and transmitted to us. In the course of further registration processing, the data will be transferred to the respective administrative software and stored there.

The following personal data is collected as part of the enquiry process:

  • Name: Salutation, surname and first name of the applicant.
  • Mail address: e-mail address to be used for queries and notifications in connection with registration.

  • Telephone: Telephone number to be used for queries and notifications in connection with registration. (voluntary information)

  • Matriculation number: The student's matriculation number at the University of Wuppertal.

  • Subject semester: Current subject semester according to valid matriculation certificate.

  • Type of studies: Bachelor's or Master's degree.

  • Letter of motivation: The student is asked to submit a letter of motivation.

  • Preference order for different topics: The student can give a preference to the topics offered by the chair.

  • The following data will also be stored at the time the form is sent: Date and time of registration.

As part of the registration process, the user's consent to the processing of this data is obtained. The data will not be passed on to third parties. The user will be contacted exclusively within the scope of the studies.


2. Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a and b DSGVO if the user has given his consent. The request serves the implementation of administrative measures.

3. Purpose of data processing

The collection of personal data is indispensable for the allocation of supervision places for final theses within the framework of existing capacities at the chair. The name of the applicant is particularly important for identification purposes. The Chair of Marketing offers the use of the web form.

4. Duration of storage

The data transferred to the administrative software will remain stored for documentation and occupancy history purposes.

5. Possibility of opposition and removal
